Cesare, italienischer Journalist und Politiker, * Trient 4. 2. 1875, ✝ (hingerichtet) ebenda 13. 7. 1916; gründete 1900 die sozialdemokratische Zeitung »Il Popolo«, setzte sich journalistisch für den Anschluss des Trentino an Italien ein. Seit 1911 gehörte er dem österreichischen Reichsrat an. Bei Ausbruch des Ersten Weltkriegs floh er nach Italien und kämpfte, selbst österreichischer Reserveoffizier, gegen Österreich-Ungarn. 1916 gefangen genommen, wurde er wegen Hochverrats und Desertion zum Tod verurteilt. Battisti gilt als bedeutender Vertreter des trentinischen Irredentismus.
